Made by Monel 400.
Monel alloy (UNS N04400) is corrosion resistant in an extensive range of marine and chemical environments, good resistant to neutral, alkaline and acid salts , chloride ion stress corrosion cracking , and sulfuric and hydrofluoric acids. It is more resistant to nickel under reducing conditions and more resistant than copper under oxidizing conditions, it does show better resistance to reducing media than oxidizing.Monel 400 is a nickel-copper alloy . It is characterized by good general corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties from subzero temperatures up to about 4800C, good weldability and moderate to high strength. Monel has been used in a variety of applications. This alloy is widely used in the chemical, oil and marine industries such as marine engineering, chemical and hydrocarbon processing equipment, shafts, pumps, fittings, valves, fasteners, and heat exchangers. It is also used as part of metal instruments and frames of eyeglasses, feed water and steam generator tubing, sulfuric acid and hydrofluoric acid alkylation plants, brine heaters, sea water scrubbers in tanker inert gas systems, heat exchangers in a variety of industries, pickling bat heating coils, propeller and pump shafts, cladding for the upper areas of oil refinery crude columns, transfer piping from oil refinery crude columns, plant for the refining of uranium and isotope separation in the production of nuclear fuel, pumps and valves used in the manufacture of perchlorethylene, chlorinated plastics, monoethanolamine (MEA) reboiling tube.Specificationï¼ASTM B 164 (Rod, Bar, and Wire), ASTM B 564 (Forgings)ï¼ASTM B 127ï¼Plateï¼Sheet, Stripï¼, ASTM B 165 (Seamless Pipe and Tube).
