From our lan introduct at the world Cat's Claw is a woody vine that grows in the Amazon rainforest of Peru. It is also called the "Sacred Herb of the Rain Forest"(our group integrate for ashanika , shipio and another etchnic gruop).. Cat's Claw (Uncaria tomentosa) It is named after the hook-likethorns that grow along its vine. The bark and root of this herb havebeen used by native peruvians going back to the Inca civilization Totreat a variety of health problems including Arthritis, Stomach Ulcers,Inflammation, Dysentery, and Fevers. It was also used as a form of birth control.
